My Hair Care Regimen

The good, the bad, and of course, the ugly.

We’ve all been there…

If you’re like me, hair is the hardest part of your morning routine.  I hate my younger self for being so good at flat-ironing and curling it EVERYDAY before middle school.  Nowadays, my hair is blonder, but 100% more brittle and broken.  It’s the thing I hate the most about getting ready in the mornings.  Not to mention, it takes the most time and is the most boring to do.

However, these past few weeks I’ve decided I NEEDED to make a change for my hair.  I just couldn’t deal with it constantly feeling so dry and lifeless.  So, I’ve started to put together a hair care regimen that works for me.  Remember, everyone is different so what works for me, may not work for you.

The star of the show: Olaplex

Oh, Olaplex.  My beloved Olaplex.  I was first introduced to this product about a year and a half ago when I really started going lighter with my hair.  When you’re naturally blonde but want to go blonder, and I mean like REALLY blonder, it causes a lot of damage on your already thin, fragile hair.  Then, Olaplex came onto the scene and changed the game for blondes, or anyone with damaged hair.  I start with an in-salon treatment, then follow up with their at-home products.

The Cut:

Easy and simple.  A blunt cut.  Every. Time.  I just love the way it looks in any style.  It also makes my thin hair appear thicker.

One major thing I’ve learned:

Good hair products pay off.  For so long I used $5 shampoo that would make my hair feel so dry, and what I’ve learned is you get what you pay for.  The Olaplex products and other things I use can be a little expensive, but they last for so long and they make you feel great about using them.

How to Use It:

I make sure my hair is brushed out completely.  I even dampen the brush and run it through my hair.  (Olaplex works best on damp hair)

The No.3 Hair Perfector is the at-home treatment.

The product should coat your hair evenly.
Let that baby soak in!  Overnight if you can, but at a minimum of 15 minutes.  I typically always tie it up and do a face mask if I’m not sleeping with the product in my hair.

The Follow-Up:

So, after I’ve used that, I then wash and condition my hair with the Olaplex shampoo and conditioner.

After that, I always use It’s A 10.  I’ve used their product for quite some time now.  They make the best leave-in conditioner.  Either the Silk Express or Blonde one.  Depends on how I’m feeling that day.

In-Between Washes:

FOR OIL:  Dry shampoo.  My best friend.  Forever & Always.  Batiste has been my tried and true for as long as I can remember.

FOR VOLUME: A texturizing powder.  I love these because they don’t dry out your hair like a mousse or sea salt spray.  It gives you grit, hold, and the perfect texture.

These products allow me to just blow-dry my hair straight, and not wash it for about 4 days.  I like a messy, tousled look so I pretty much just wake up, style a few pieces, and go for my everyday hair.

And that’s a wrap!

That’s how my hair has completely changed.  These products have made such a great combo and I’ve really seen a difference in my hair since using them.  Comment down below with your favorite products and what they’ve done for you!

See you all next time,
